Crane and Sustainability

Crane is dedicated to your environment both inside and outside your home. We know that if cleaned and maintained properly, our products last for years helping reduce unnecessary use of resources and emissions making new products. Through various channels, we provide education on how to effectively clean, store, and troubleshoot our products so they get the most use.

Crane Lifestyle Penguin

We also sell replacements of the various parts of our products so you don’t have to buy an entirely new unit if one piece breaks. Crane products are packaged in all recycled cardboard, and manuals are also made from recycled materials with no added finishes or harmful dyes. In 2015, Crane made the switch from packaging our humidifiers in styrofoam to molded pulp. This alternative provides the same cushioning protection, but is made from all recyclable materials and can be recycled with the rest of your paper products. We advise customers to dispose of non-operating units in an environmentally friendly way by taking it to a public collection point. Broken humidifiers should not be placed with regular household waste.

DRY AIR

Both heaters and air conditioners contribute to drying out the air in your home. Using a humidifier adds moisture to the air. This helps to reduce dry skin, nose bleeds and itchy eyes for you and your family, but also prevents wood furniture from splitting, wallpaper from peeling and doors from contracting.

NEW BORN

Newborns are obligate nasal breathers, meaning they breathe through their nose for the first 4-6 months. Humidifiers help clear newborns’ nasal congestion so they breathe easier, sleep better and feed with less frustration. Newborns also lose moisture in their skin twice as fast as adults. Humidifiers help newborns retain that moisture to keep their skin baby soft.

PERFORM

Every musician, vocalist and performer can benefit from using a humidifier for themselves and for their instruments. Humidifiers help to keep your airways clear, strong and healthy to always stay on pitch. Using a humidifier to maintain a consistent humidity level in the room where you keep your wood instruments can help prevent cracking from dry air and keep them in top shape.

PETS

Our pets benefit from humidity just as much as we do! Whether they have fur or feathers, dogs, cats and birds can suffer from dry skin when the air is dry. Pets can also suffer from cold symptoms like dry coughs. Humidifiers help to relieve the dryness in their airways and relieve this cough.
*If conditions persist, as we do with our own illnesses, see your veterinarian.
